Disabling add-ons and removing toolbars in Firefox

This article describes how to disable and remove unwanted add-ons in Mozilla Firefox. Browser add-ons can sometimes slow down your computer and cause websites to not function and display properly.

Step 1: At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP)

 

Step 2: Click “Add-ons”.

Step 3: In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions or Appearance panel.

 

Step 4: Select the Add-on that you wish to remove and click “Remove”.

How to Install Adobe Acrobat Reader

1. In your browser, go to: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
2. Uncheck the option to install McAfee Security Scan Plus.
 
3. Click the Download now button.

 4. When Opening dialog box appears, click Save File.

5. When Downloads window appears, double-click the file.

6. When Security Warning dialog box appears, click Run.

7. When User Account Control dialog box appears, click Yes.

Internet Explorer

 4. When File Download dialog box appears, click Run.

5. When Security Warning dialog box appears, click Run

6. When User Account Control dialog box appears, click Yes.

Installing Adobe Flash Player

1. In your browser, go to: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

2. Uncheck the option to install McAfee Security Scan Plus.

3. Click the Download now button.
